Paving in the City Different
Santa Fe sits at roughly 7,000 feet at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Inside the city you'll find everything from narrow lanes and old adobe compounds near the historic center to newer subdivisions on the south side. Driveways range from short, tight approaches through walled courtyards to wide parking courts — and many older ones are crusher fines or aging asphalt that has been plowed, sanded and baked for decades.
What we do most in town
Replacing tired asphalt
Driveways with heaves, potholes and broken edges after years of freeze-thaw. Depending on the base, we repair and overlay or replace.
Crusher fines to asphalt or chip seal
For owners tired of spring mud and fines tracked into the house. How conversions work.
Tight sites
Narrow lanes, walls, coyote fences and portales mean smaller equipment and careful staging. We plan access at the quote.
Sealcoating and crack sealing
Fall crack sealing before winter, and sealcoat every few years. Sealcoating in Santa Fe.

Historic districts and permits
Parts of Santa Fe are in historic districts with their own design rules, and work in the city right-of-way — a curb cut or apron — generally needs a city permit. Driveway work on private property usually doesn't need historic review, but it's worth confirming if your project changes what's visible from the street. We'll help you figure out what applies.

Questions we hear
Do you work inside the city limits?
Yes — throughout Santa Fe and across Santa Fe County.
Can you get equipment into a walled courtyard?
Often, with smaller equipment and planning. We check gates, walls and turning room at the quote.
Do I need a permit?
Work in the city right-of-way usually does. Private driveway work usually doesn't, but historic districts can have extra rules — we'll help check.
When is paving season here?
Late spring through early fall for hot-mix; crack sealing is best in early fall.
