The Galisteo Basin
South of Santa Fe, the small villages of Galisteo and Lamy sit in wide-open ranch country, with long views, large properties and drives that run a long way from the county road. The basin's arroyos can carry serious water in a summer storm.
What we usually build
- A crowned, drained base before any surface.
- Chip seal or compacted millings on long runs.
- Asphalt at the house, entrance and any steep pitches.
- Culverts or reinforced crossings sized for the arroyo.
- Aprons at the county road where needed; work in the right-of-way may need a permit.
Keeping it rural
Most owners out here want a drive that works without looking suburban. Chip seal in stone tones is a natural fit. We also schedule Galisteo and Lamy work alongside nearby jobs to keep travel costs reasonable.

Questions we hear
Is it too far for you?
No — we schedule basin work on good-weather days and group it with nearby jobs.
What's the best value for a very long drive?
A crowned, drained base with chip seal or millings, and asphalt only where needed.
Can you build an arroyo crossing?
Yes — culverts or reinforced low-water crossings depending on the flow.
